Build credibility
The inaugural issue had to look like the beginning of a serious editorial brand—not a one-time project.
Case study · Magazine publishing
How STEM Crew Magazine grew from one ambitious idea into a continuing publication—with Dr. Crystal Jordan serving as its cover designer from the very beginning.

The client
Founded by Dr. Tiffani Teachey
STEM Education · Media · Youth Inspiration
STEM Crew Magazine was created to introduce young people, parents, and educators to the possibilities available through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The publication celebrates STEM professionals, makes complex subjects feel accessible, provides useful resources, and helps the next generation imagine themselves pursuing STEM careers.
The challenge
The inaugural issue had to look like the beginning of a serious editorial brand—not a one-time project.
Every edition needed its own personality while remaining unmistakably part of the STEM Crew Magazine family.
Every cover needed to communicate the featured professional’s accomplishments, expertise, and presence.

Crystal’s role
Dr. Crystal Jordan has been part of the STEM Crew Magazine journey since its inaugural Fall 2023 edition.
She provided publishing guidance and creative support for the launch and designed the first cover. From that inaugural issue forward, Crystal designed every STEM Crew Magazine cover, helping the publication maintain a professional and recognizable visual identity as it continued to grow.
Her role was never limited to one launch design. Crystal became the creative professional responsible for visually introducing each featured STEM leader and every new edition.
The visual archive
From the launch issue through the magazine’s continuing growth, Crystal designed every cover shown here.

The result
Through her ongoing cover-design work, Crystal helped establish and maintain the visual identity readers see whenever a new issue is released.
Why this project matters
“Publishing gave the vision a platform. Consistent design gave the platform an identity.”
Every cover represents another chapter in the publication’s journey—and another example of Crystal’s ability to transform a client’s vision into professional editorial design.
